Kanye West is giving fans insight into this morning’s meeting with Donald Trump.
In a series of tweets, Yeezy explained his hopes for building a relationship with the President-elect.
“I wanted to meet with Trump today to discuss multicultural issues,” tweeted ‘Ye. “These issues included bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculums, and violence in Chicago. I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change.”

Prior to ‘Ye’s tweets, TMZ reported that West’s motives for the meeting were rooted in his hopes to address violence in Chicago. Sources say that while this morning’s talk wasn’t specifically about this issue, it was meant to help build a relationship for future discussions on the subject.
After this morning’s 15-minute meeting, Trump said they talked about “life.” The President-elect also called him a longtime “friend,” and a “good man.”
The meeting with Trump could have also had political implications. West, who vowed to run for president in 2020, now might be eyeing a presidency in 2024 instead. Following his Trump tweets, he added a final post with just a “#2024” hashtag.

This marks the first time Kanye has tweeted since his hospitalization last month. He is recovering from what’s been called a “mental breakdown” caused by reported dehydration, depression, and paranoia.
