Get your roses ready. In the midst of his ongoing Cash Money feud, Lil Wayne is preparing his next project, Funeral.
The Young Money chief made the announcement during an episode of “The Nine Club” podcast. “Make sure they know that Funeral is coming soon,” he said. “That’s my music. Get your roses ready. I don’t have a release date, but I have a whole bunch of good news coming soon. If you’re a Wayne fan, I know we’ve been going through a lot of tough times right now, but if you are a Wayne fan, we about to hold our heads high soon.”
Later, he added: “Shout out to my squad. Be looking out for my motherfuckin’ squad. They’re gonna kill shit.”
At press time, it’s unclear whether Tunechi is talking about his Young Money crew when he refers to his squad or if it’s a new generation of rappers that he’s working with.
Fans are also still waiting on Tha Carter V, which is being held up due to an ongoing $51 million legal battle between Wayne and Cash Money.
Funeral marks Wayne’s first project since 2015’s Free Weezy Album, which featured appearances from Wiz Khalifa, Jeezy, and Cory Gunz.
