Kanye West was hospitalized in Los Angeles on late Monday (Nov. 21) following a series of bizarre incidents that ended with him canceling his tour.

The rapper was taken to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center for psychiatric evaluation. According to law enforcement sources (via TMZ), LAPD responded to a medical welfare call about 1:20 p.m. Paramedics ended up transporting Kanye to the hospital by ambulance. He reportedly resisted and had to be restrained when transported.

He was reportedly being examined by one of his doctors for severe sleep deprivation when it was determined that he needed to be admitted.

The decision to hospitalize West was for his own health and safety, added the sources. No criminal activity was suspected.

The hospitalization comes after a rough week for West. He retroactively endorsed Donald Trump during a concert and lashed out against Beyoncé, Jay Z, Drake, and others onstage before canceling the remaining dates of his “Saint Pablo Tour.”

TMZ earlier reported that exhaustion was behind the cancelation. “He’s just exhausted,” said the source. “He’s been working around the clock on fashion design, both his own line and the adidas line.”

Kim Kardashian flew to New York on Monday to attend the Angel Ball, her first public appearance since the Paris robbery, but ended up bailing and heading back to L.A. to be by her husband’s side.

West’s peers including Janelle Monáe sent their best wishes. “PRAYING FOR KANYE,” wrote the “Tightrope” singer. “PRAYING HE HAS THE RIGHT ENERGY SURROUNDING HIM DURING THIS TIME. SENDING PEACE AND LOVE.”
