Drake is breaking records all 2016.
After Views became the first album to reach one billion streams on Apple Music, Spotify has confirmed that “One Dance” — which features Wizkid and Kyla — is the most-streamed song in the platform’s history with more than 880 million streams.
This figure shatters the numbers for the previous title holder, Major Lazer, DJ Snake, and MØ’s “Lean On,” which had 526 million plays last year.
According to Pitchfork, Drizzy reportedly has more than 8 billion total streams on Spotify, which is particularly impressive given Drake’s Apple Music alliance. When Views was first released, it remained solely on Apple for two weeks. The 6 God is also an Apple spokesperson and he’s got OVOSOUND Radio on the platform.
“One Dance” isn’t just popular amongst listeners. Musicians have also taken a liking to the track. Upon its release, the cut was remixed by a wide variety of artists ranging from Justin Bieber to Jadakiss.
