Big K.R.I.T. is a “Free Agent.”
After parting ways with Def Jam, where he released 2012’s Live From the Underground and 2014’s Cadillactica, Krizzle unleashes a new banger about his independence.
“I built it from the ground up,” he rhymes. “Act like they found us / From the signing, the label tried to drown us.”
Later this month, K.R.I.T. is embarking on his “Kritically Acclaimed Tour,” which starts Oct. 22 in Norfolk and ends Dec. 18 in Atlanta.
During an interview with “Sway in the Morning,” where K.R.I.T. released “Free Agent,” the rapper also explained how independence has changed his perspective on the music business.
“I can say I’m happy,” he said. “I’m finally happy now. I’m creating this album and I’m free to do what I want to do. There’s no restrictions here.”
