Yesterday, Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in a Paris hotel room and now new details are emerging in the ongoing investigation.
According to the French Interior Ministry, five armed men in ski masks and police jackets threatened a concierge and forced him to open Kardashian’s room. Once inside, two of the men stole a ring worth approximately $4.49 million and a jewelry box worth an estimated $5.6 million. Her purse, two cell phones, and 1,000 euros were also taken.
Kardashian’s kids, North and Saint, were not in the room at the time of the robbery, according to E! News.
NBC News New York reports that the five thieves escaped on bikes and remain at large.
An insider now says Kim was gagged and bound at her hands and feet. She was also allegedly handcuffed and held at gunpoint, as per E! News. “She begged for them to let her live and [said] she has babies at home,” the source said.”Then they wrapped her mouth in tape and put her in the bathtub. She thought they were for sure going to kill her.”
Kardashian reportedly “broke out of her bindings and got out” once the men left the room. She spoke with Parisian police and boarded a plane. Her sister Kendall Jenner — who was also in Paris for Fashion Week — left the city on Monday (Oct. 3).
Citing a “family emergency,” Kanye West was forced to cut his Meadows Festival performance short in New York on Sunday after receiving the news.
Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo also tweeted a statement on the matter, translated by E! News. “This very rare act occurred in a private space and does not in any way call into question the work of the police and the security of the public space,” she explained.
Although the family has remained mostly silent about the incident in the public eye, Kim’s mother, Kris Jenner, told E! News that her daughter “will be OK.”
Kardashian left Paris and arrived safely in New York City on Monday morning with her husband and mother by her side. She was accompanied by 15-20 bodyguards as she pulled up to the family’s residence.
