How did Beyoncé celebrate her 35th Bey Day this year? With a little love, peace, and soul.
Queen Bey may be on vocal rest due to doctor’s orders, but that didn’t stop her from boogieing with close friends and family at a “Soul Train”-themed birthday bash in New York City on Monday night (Sept. 5).
Jay Z donned a super-fly Jimi Hendrix-inspired Afro and danced with his wife down the “Soul Train” line. Later, Blue Ivy got on the mic, saying: “Happy birthday mommy!”

Destiny’s Child was in full effect as well, with Kelly Rowland shining in all gold and Michelle Williams sporting a stunning Cher-inspired ensemble.
Other guests included Diddy, Cassie, Kendrick Lamar, Swizz Beatz, Alicia Keys, Serena Williams, Usher, Carmelo Anthony, La La Anthony, and Solange Knowles.

“Thank you everybody for coming,” Beyoncé told her guests. “You all did such an incredible job committing and I’m so happy to be here.”
Then, Bey looked at her husband Jay and said, “Thank you, baby.”

It’s been a big weekend for Bey. She celebrated her actual birthday on Saturday (Sept. 4) and on Sunday, she attended Made in America, where she hung out with Bill Clinton and was serenaded by Chance the Rapper.
