After meeting with the Mayor of Los Angeles and the Police Chief, The Game was inspired to pen a spoken word poem.

The Compton rapper went to Los Angeles radio station Power 106 with the untitled piece to read it on-air. “Hopefully it resonates with the people,” he said.

Much of the poem addresses social issues that have impacted humanity throughout its history. Eventually, Game focuses on the plight of black men in America.

“Black man,” he says at the end, “Please put the blunt down, the lean, and the Hennessy / It’s time to father our future so our existence is more than just a memory.”

The Game has been outspoken following the recent deaths of black men. He, along with Snoop Dogg and Problem, met with the Mayor of Los Angeles Eric Garcetti and Police Chief Charlie Beck to address police brutality and unify his hometown.
