It seems Soulja Boy is playing his cards right. Amidst skepticism, World Poker Fund Holdings has confirmed the rapper’s previously reported $400 million deal.
Billboard reports that the “Superman” MC has landed a five-year endorsement deal with the company, which refers to him as “one of the most influential urban entertainers and artists on social media today.”
“I invest in things I understand,” said Soulja Boy. “I enjoy music, and of course gaming. Being an influencer is a form of currency. Having portfolio diversification is critical if you want to be an effective brand ambassador. With regards to World Poker Fund, I believe in its strategy, its team, the vision, and management’s ability to target its financial goals.”
World Poker spokesman Matthew Bird explained why Soulja’s worth the major deal. “We no longer are fed content from major news networks—we seek it out and consume it by individual influencers that enrich our lifestyles,” said Bird. “Soulja Boy represents the best of the best and we are already seeing the impact from his presence.”
Earlier this month, SB announced the deal, while saying he still felt he was “low balled.”
This isn’t his only new deal alert. Last week, he also announced a partnership with FilmOn, which was signed after Beyoncé sampled his 2008 hit “Turn My Swag On” for “Hold Up” off LEMONADE.
After signing his new deals, Soulja shouted out Queen Bey on Twitter.
