Can’t stop, won’t stop. The ESSENCE Festival already has a star-studded lineup this year, and now they’ve announced even more big names.
After confirming Kendrick Lamar, Mariah Carey, and Maxwell in March, the music fest has added two additional hip-hop acts to the bill: Puff Daddy & The Family and Common.
The annual fest is set to go down July 1-3 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. Friday’s festivities kick off with Maxwell, New Edition, Babyface, Tyrese, and Faith Evans on the Mainstage.
Saturday’s roster boasts appearances from Mariah Carey, Common, Charlie Wilson, Jeremih, and Estelle, while the intimate Superlounges include Doug E. Fresh, Tink, Jidenna, St. Beauty, and Wizkid, among others.
It all caps off on Sunday, with performances from Kendrick Lamar, Puff Daddy & The Family, Ciara, and Andra Day. Meanwhile, MC Lyte, DeJ Loaf, Leon Bridges, Kehlani, and BJ the Chicago Kid will play the Superlounges.
Single-day tickets are on sale now starting at $50.
Before heading to ESSENCE, Puff Daddy will reunite with his Bad Boy family during a two-night stint at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on May 20-21, which will feature performances by Lil’ Kim, Ma$e, Faith Evans, Jay Z, DMX, and Mary J. Blige.
