Kyrie Irving breaks his silence. The NBA star is opening up about his relationship with Kehlani and rumors that may have led to his former girlfriend’s apparent suicide attempt.

“It’s been hard to see what’s been going on and not address the truth,” the Cavaliers player wrote in since-deleted tweets on Wednesday (Mar. 30). “I do not justify the picture or what [PARTYNEXTDOOR] did to try and spark all of this nonsense that could have been avoided, but me and Kehlani were not dating when the picture came out.

“It’s unfortunate that it’s received so much attention, but its become bigger because of a post that was misunderstood,” he continued. “Nothing but love and compassion over this way for her and her family. My only focus the Game I love to play every night.”

Kehlani was hospitalized after a suicide attempt this week following a PARTYNEXTDOOR Instagram post featuring the couple in bed together. The You Should Be Here singer was criticized because some believed she was cheating on Irving at the time.

However, she denied the infidelity rumors. “Don’t believe the blogs you read .. No one was cheated on and I’m not a bad person,” wrote Kehlani, adding, “I am severely utterly in love with my first love [PND]. Went thru a bad breakup and ended up easing into a relationship with a man who was one of my best friend[s].”

Chris Brown took to Twitter to criticize Kehlani, while sharing his support for Irving with the hashtag #KYRIEMVP. “There is no attempting suicide. Stop flexing for the gram,” he said. “I’ll be the BIGGEST PIECE OF 💩. But ima ride for my Homies regardless. KYRIE is probably one of the only good guys left. IDGAF!!!”
