Bang bang. After teasing his new Always Strive and Prosper single earlier this week, A$AP Ferg has unleashed the full version of “Let It Bang,” a ScHoolboy Q-assisted slapper that focuses on family.
The Trap Lord kicks off the first two verses over high-energy production, focusing on his uncle Psycho, a Wu-Tang Clan fan with an Ol’ Dirty Bastard persona who handles beef with “no prob.” Then ScHoolboy Q delivers an autobiographical verse. “I ain’t talking about my uncle,” the TDE spitter raps. “This me.”
Yesterday, the A$AP Mob rhymer opened up about the track during an interview with San Francisco’s KMEL. “It’s actually about my uncle Psycho,” he explained. “He’s crazy. Everybody has a crazy uncle…Everybody got an uncle that’ll choke somebody. He’s definitely that uncle.”
Ferg’s actually written about Psycho on Ferg Forever’s “Uncle,” and two songs off A.S.A.P. are about him, too: “Let It Bang” and “Psycho.” Those two joints join Fergenstein’s Future-featured “New Level” on Always Strive and Prosper, an album due to drop April 22.
