The verdict is in. After an ongoing legal battle, Ashanti is celebrating the jury’s decision in the case of her stalker.

On Friday (Mar. 18), Devar Hurd was found guilty of stalking the R&B songstress in the second degree, according to “Entertainment Tonight.” Hurd’s sentencing is slated to be announced on March 31.

Following the news, a grateful Ashanti celebrated the verdict on Twitter. “First & Foremost thank you God,” she tweeted. “🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 & Thanku guys for all of your love, support & Prayers!!!! Verdict is in. #Guilty.”

She also posted about the case on Instagram. “Thank you God for the blessing of this finally being over. & Thank you guys so much for all your prayers,” she added. “You never know what someone else is going through. I didn’t do a lot of talking about this… Just a lot of Praying. For any other women dealing with anything like this remember to be strong & brave! @liltuneshi @theoriginalmomanger it’s over.”

Hurd acted as his own attorney for this trial, which is the third time he’s been brought up on this charge. The first resulted in a mistrial back in December 2014 due to a juror’s illness during deliberations. During the second trial, Hurd was convicted of several counts, but not stalking in the second degree.

In 2009, Hurd was reportedly convicted for stalking and harassing Ashanti’s mother and manager Tina Douglas with explicit text messages and photographs.

During the latest trial, the ex Murder Inc. singer faced Hurd as he cross-examined her. “You continuously tweeted over and over again disgusting, derogatory, disrespectful things to me after you had already gone to jail for doing the same thing,” she said (via The New York Daily News). “I wish you to stop. I just wish you to stop.”
