Rihanna rocks! To celebrate this, the Bajan songstress, who just kicked off her “ANTI World Tour,” will be honored at BET’s “Black Girls Rock!” next month.

RiRi will receive the Rock Star Award at the annual event honoring black women, which will take place on April 1 at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark. The show will be televised on April 5.

“Thank you @BlackGirlsRock for this years’ Rock Star Award!!” tweeted RiRi.

This year’s honorees also include Gladys Knight, writer-producer Shonda Rhimes, “Walking Dead” star and playwright Danai Gurira, and actress Amandla Stenberg.

Tracee Ellis Ross is scheduled to host the awards, which has honored the likes of Taraji P. Henson, Queen Latifah, and Patti LaBelle in the past.

“Black Girls Rock!” is an annual celebration of black women which hopes to “change the world by empowering black girls to lead, innovate, and serve,” the non-profit organization’s website says, adding that it “builds the self-esteem and self-worth of young women of color by changing their outlook on life, broadening their horizons, and providing tools for self-empowerment and efficacy.”
