Anderson .Paak is down with Aftermath. The singer-songwriter has inked a deal with Dr. Dre’s record label.

The Beats tycoon announced the big news in a Twitter video over the weekend. “I want y’all to say what’s up to the new Aftermath representative,” says Dre of the Oxnard, Calif. native. “Anderson .Paak, baby. Welcome to Aftermath.”

.Paak’s second album Malibu (Steel Wool/OBE/Art Club) dropped earlier this month featuring The Game, SchoolBoy Q, Talib Kweli, and Robert Glasper, while his debut Venice was released in October 2014.

According to Billboard, the 29-year-old caught the attention of Dre when an Aftermath A&R rep called him in to sing on an unnamed Dre project, which turned out to be 2015’s Compton. The album, which features six tracks from .Paak, was nominated for Best Rap Album at the Grammys.

Additionally, .Paak can be heard on two tracks off The Game’s The Documentary 2.

He joins an esteemed roster at Aftermath that includes Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and Jon Connor.
