Nearly five years after her infamous interview with Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee, and DJ Envy, Lil Mama returned to “The Breakfast Club” on Tuesday. But there were no tears to be shed this time around. Charlamagne and Mama made peace (According to him, Mama’s father pulled a gun on DJ Envy after the incident) before discussing her new mixtape Take Me Back, love life (there were rumors that she’s dating Big Sean), and evolution.

“I don’t regret anything because I feel like anything that I’ve been through is a part of who I am right now. It’s all a part of my growth,” she said. “What I did learn was how to roll with the punches a little better, because at times I would get knocked down and I’d stay down… So I really had to build that backbone.”

But Charlamagne refused to apologize for making her cry. “I don’t think there’s anything to apologize for. It was jokes,” he said.

Mama, who starred in the 2013 VH1 biopic “CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story,” also discussed her relationship with TLC’s T-Boz and Chilli and her role as the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, which earned her praise.

“When I played Left Eye, it helped me to see things about myself. It taught me discipline, it taught me respect, it taught me etiquette, even acting,” she said.

It’s been an ongoing joke that Mama and Bow Wow are the same person. But she doesn’t have an issue with the comparisons. In fact, she called Bow Wow a “living legend.” “Bow Wow has over 20 years of success in this business,” she said. “You can’t offend me by comparing me to somebody who’s great and handsome. So if you saying we look good, then I’m cool.”

Plus, watch her step to the mic and spit some bars in the studio.
