Before the holidays, Jidenna released three new tracks including “Extraordinaire,” “Chief,” and “Knickers.” Now the “Classic Man” has premiered a video for the latter. After being denied entrance to a club because they were wearing knickers, three dapper gentlemen head to another club where everyone is wearing knickers and having a blast on the dance floor. Jidenna, clad in all white, leads the electrifying dance party. But the cops try to ruin the fun and drop smoke bombs, while guests don gas masks.
In a recent interview with Rap-Up TV, Jidenna explained the inspiration behind “Knickers.” “I’m a slim guy. Slim guys, we don’t really like shorts too much,” he said. “So knickers fits us right. It makes our hamstring look a little bit bigger.”
Jidenna, whose hit “Classic Man” is nominated for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the Grammys, is working on his debut album for release this year.
“You can expect swank. You can expect an album that feels like the adventures of classic man. What does a classic man do when he’s in his hotel? What does he do when he explores South Central L.A. all the way to Dubai?” he said. “You can expect the best album in 2016, hands down, feet down.”
