Chris Brown hits the dance floor on “Anyway” featuring Tayla Parx, the latest preview off his upcoming album Royalty (Dec. 18).
Breezy opens up on the electro-banger, which crests with a synth-powered chorus and touts complimentary vocals from the up-and-coming singer-songwriter. “I know you probably never had somebody loving you like I do, someone who’s there for you / Don’t judge me ’cause we only human, I must be stupid babe, letting you slip away / If you show me all your flaws, I’ll show you mine,” he sings.
“Anyway” is a markedly different type of track compared to “Wrist” featuring Solo Lucci, a trap anthem released last week that featured saucy lines like “Can I hit it in the mirror? I wanna see your body clearer.”
His seventh LP, which has also spawned the singles “Liquor,” “Fine By Me,” “Zero,” and “Back to Sleep,” is dedicated to his one-and-a-half-year-old daughter Royalty, who inspired him to be better. “It’s actually great, it’s very humbling, and it’s very calming,” he previously said. “Being able to be a father and seeing my daughter from those gradual stages — from crawling, to walking, to saying words, to learning different things every day — is kind of teaching me patience and it’s been great.”
