Demi Lovato’s new album Confident arrives today and includes “Kingdom Come,” her collaboration with Iggy Azalea. The song merges soaring pop hooks with trap-influenced 808 percussion, recalling Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse” and Iggy’s own hit “Black Widow.” The Aussie rapstress comes in after the second chorus with a verse playing off the track’s royal theme.
“Long live the queen, what the people say,” raps Iggy, noting that she has “a king in my cavalry.”
It’s a female empowerment anthem from two of pop’s leading ladies.
