Sean “Diddy” Combs is “Workin” overtime as he continues to expand his media empire.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the rapper and entrepreneur will link with ABC to produce a new scripted comedy about the life of his former assistant Sarah Snedeker.
It will be titled “The Hustle,” and chronicle Snedeker’s journey from small-town-bred assistant to executive at Revolt Films. Along the way she’ll encounter all the crazy antics you’d expect from a glamorized version of show business. The script will be co-written by Jeremy Garelick (The Wedding Ringer) and Stacey Harman (ABC’s “The Goldbergs”). Both will executive produce, along with Combs.
Diddy is not the only one with an ABC show in the works. John Legend has sold a romantic comedy called “Ordinary People,” inspired by his relationship with wife Chrissy Teigen, and Nicki Minaj is developing a comedy series for ABC Family based on her own life.
Meanwhile, Mr. Combs is also busy bringing his Bad Boy label over to Epic Records and recording new music—earlier this week, he debuted two songs at the BET HIp-Hop Awards, “Workin” and “The Auction” featuring Lil’ Kim, Styles P, and King Los.
