It’s been a long time coming, but Ty Dolla $ign will finally release his debut album Free TC this fall.
The L.A. hitmaker took to Twitter to announce a Nov. 13 release date and reveal the cover art, which shows him calling his incarcerated brother through the prison glass while his “Free TC” knuckle tattoo remains in the foreground.
The project was named after his younger brother Big TC, who is behind bars for a murder charge, but it represents more than just an album.
“It’s for a purpose,” Ty told Rap-Up TV last year. “He’s locked up for something that he didn’t do. It’s many people out here that get injustice, as you’ve seen Mike Brown, Trayvon Martin, everything that’s happening on the news right now. It has a purpose. It’s gonna be the biggest album of 2015.”
He has already released a few singles including the YG-assisted “Only Right” and “Blasé” featuring Future and Rae Sremmurd. Other collaborators include Wiz Khalifa, Kanye West, and R. Kelly. Later today, he will drop his new single “When I See Ya” featuring Fetty Wap.
