Bieber is back in a big way. The pop superstar’s new single “What Do You Mean?” has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
It becomes his first song to top the chart and just the 23rd ever to begin at No. 1 in the Hot 100’s 57-year history. Bieber’s previous best was 2012’s “Boyfriend,” which peaked at No. 2 on the Hot 100.
The song dethrones The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face” after two non-consecutive weeks. “What Do You Mean?” sold over 335,000 digital units in the U.S. in its first week out, and has broken the Weekly Global Spotify streaming record with over 41 million streams worldwide.
In an Instagram video, Bieber thanked his fans. “Looks like we did it. I wanna say we did it again, but it’s my first No. 1, so thank you guys. You guys are the best,” he said.
“What Do You Mean?” is the first single off Bieber’s forthcoming album, due Nov. 13.
