Jay Rock’s sophomore album 90059 is finally seeing the light of day, one song at a time. First we heard “Money Trees Deuce” and the title track, and now we’ve got a new one that he premiered on Shade 45 called “Easy Bake” featuring Kendrick Lamar. Over a lurching beat, Rock lets his aggressive side out: “Highly belligerent, but that’s way before the liquor hits,” he booms.
Kendrick comes off more measured by comparison—his languid verse rolls off his tongue, his voice barely above a whisper. That is, until Rock comes back in and the two trade high-octane call-and-response bars.
A version with SZA is set to appear on the album, which will be released once the pre-order goal is met.
