After releasing her long-awaited debut album VII last year, Teyana Taylor takes it back to her favorite era, the ’90s, on her new mixtape The Cassette Tape 1994. The nostalgic set finds G.O.O.D. Music’s First Lady singing over old school samples including Tony! Toni! Toné!’s “Anniversary” and Bell Biv DeVoe’s “Poison.”
The five-track collection also features production from Kanye West (“Your Wish”), Da Internz (“Touch Me”), and J.R. Rotem (“Undercover”), plus an appearance from her boyfriend, Iman Shumpert of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
You can catch Teyana on the road playing shows with Chris Brown on his “One Hell of a Nite” tour, which winds down Sept. 19.
Pop in the tape and push play.
