Drake’s “Hotline Bling” is incredibly hot right now; Alessia Cara, a fellow Canadian who’s acquired significant hype for her single “Here” is hot right now. So, it makes all too much sense for Cara to cover “Hotline Bling,” which she did for Australia’s Channel [V].

She transforms the song—itself a remix of D.R.A.M.’s “Cha Cha”—into a soulful coffee shop-ready jam. Backed by strummed acoustic guitar and gentle drums, Cara offers a soulful, jazzy take on Drake’s emotive lyrics. She adds texture to the chorus, her powerful voice supplying trills and fluttering details that make the version very much her own.

Cara ran into Drake at the Squamish Festival earlier this month. “got the 6 God’s blessing. all is well. I can’t move my limbs,” she said.

Watch her put her spin on the 6 God.

Cara previously covered The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face” and Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood,” which won her praise from the pop superstar herself.
