In between tour dates, J. Cole debuts the powerful and cinematic video for “G.O.M.D.” off his latest album 2014 Forest Hills Drive. The North Carolina MC, who closed out SXSW on Saturday, plays a house slave who organizes an uprising on a plantation. During a dinner, he gets the keys and unlocks the guns and gives them to his fellow slaves. They tie up the slave owners and celebrate their freedom by dancing around a bonfire.
“G.O.M.D.” marks the third visual off Cole’s album 2014 Forest Hills Drive following “Intro” and “Apparently.”
After wrapping the first leg of his “Forest Hills Drive Tour” on April 7, he will head to Europe for “Act 2: The Journey” with special guests Jhené Aiko and Pusha T, and return to North America for “Act 3: Hollywood” with Big Sean, YG, Jeremih, Bas, Cozz, and Omen.
