It’s official. Nearly a decade since its release, T.I. has confirmed that a sequel to the 2006 movie ATL is in the works.

“#ATL2 Get Ready,” said Tip, who posted a photo of him with director Chris Robinson and co-stars Jackie Long, Albert Daniels, and Jason Weaver.

“#ATL WAS A CLASSIC #ATL2 WILL BE LEGENDARY!!!” added Robinson. “‘AND SO IT BEGINS’ THE CREW @troubleman31 @jackielong @albeback @itsjasonweaver #RITF #BONG.”

The original ATL debuted in theaters at No. 3, grossing $11.5 million in its opening weekend.

The coming-of-age film is loosely based on the experiences of the film’s producers, Dallas Austin and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, growing up in Atlanta.

T.I. played the main character Rashad. Other stars included Big Boi of OutKast, Evan Ross, and Lauren London.

Before he hits the big screen in ATL 2, Tip stars alongside Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart in the comedy Get Hard, which opens March 27.
