T.I. makes a movie with fellow ATLien Jeezy in the 12-minute video for “G’ Shit,” the latest single off his album Paperwork. The dapper rappers show off their acting chops in the Chris Robinson-directed short film (ATL), which takes place during prohibition, and features a cast including Rotimi, Wood Harris, and Watch the Duck.
“We’re gonna give you a slice of life that you’ve probably never been able to experience before,” Tip told REVOLT. “You can live vicariously through us.”
According to Robinson, the project was 11 months in the making. “We kinda decided early in this process that we were gonna go for story, something that was epic,” said the director.
For their next act, Tip and Jeezy intend to release a joint album reportedly called Dope Boy Academy. As of November, they had recorded six or seven tracks.
“Our personal relationship allows us to be honest with each other when one feels the other can be better,” said the Hustle Gang chief. “He don’t have to [mince] his words or find a way to say, ‘Hey man, let’s try this a different way.’ And vice versa. And in that we’ll be able to challenge each other and bring out the best of one another for the betterment of the project.”
Until then, watch them team up in the epic caper and go behind the scenes below.
