Kendrick Lamar is not only working on his new album, he’s also been in the studio with Lil Wayne.
During his visit to Power 106’s #LIFTOFF show, the TDE rapper was asked if he was going to be on Tha Carter V. “Am I on Tha Carter V? Ummm… I wouldn’t know,” he responded.
He’s uncertain if his contribution will make Weezy’s final album, which is due October 28, but did confirm that a collaboration happened.
“Me and Wayne worked. I don’t know if it will be on Tha Carter V or it will be a leak, but I’ve always been a fan of Wayne so wherever it goes, it’s all love to me,” said Kendrick. “I’m just honored to work with bro. He’s always been an influential cat coming up.”
This would not be their first collaboration. They previously worked together on Mike WiLL Made-It’s single “Buy the World” and Kendrick brought Wayne on stage during his set at Power 106’s Cali Christmas in 2012.
In addition to his freestyle for Big Boy, King Kendrick also laid down some bars for the #LIFTOFF show. Hear his “Lunch Table” flow below.
