Shady’s back. Fifteen years after his breakout debut, Eminem will release his ninth album ShadyXV this fall.
The follow-up to 2013’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2 will arrive on November 28 aka Black Friday.
The official announcement was made in a trailer for the Denzel Washington crime thriller The Equalizer, which will air during Sunday’s VMAs.
The first release off the project, “Guts Over Fear” featuring Sia, will premiere on iTunes tonight, and can also be heard in the movie trailer.
“Blink and you’ll miss it… #VMAs #SHADYXV,” tweeted Em, who is nominated for seven awards.
A teaser image was also posted on his website and later removed.
Eminem hinted at the album by wearing a T-shirt with the title during the last stop of “The Monster Tour” with Rihanna at Detroit’s Comerica Park on Saturday.
ShadyXV coincides with the 15th anniversary of Eminem’s major label debut, The Slim Shady LP, which was certified quadruple platinum.
UPDATE: According to Shady Records, ShadyXV will be a two-CD compilation. One disc will feature the label’s greatest hits including 50 Cent’s “In Da Club” and Eminem’s “Lose Yourself,” while the other consists of new material from Em, Slaughterhouse, Bad Meets Evil, D-12, and Yelawolf.
It will drop on Monday, November 24, and not on Black Friday as previously stated.
ShadyXV arrives on the label’s 15th anniversary and marks its 15th release.
