Tinashe has owned the summer with her ScHoolboy Q-assisted hit “2 On,” and now she’s ready to take on the fall with her debut album.
Aquarius will arrive on October 7 via RCA Records. The R&B singer pays tribute to her ’90s upbringing on the album, which she wrote and recorded in New York, London, and Los Angeles.
In addition to the DJ Mustard-produced single “2 On,” the album features contributions from Future (“How Many Times”), Boi-1da, Jasper, Stargate, and more.
“Aquarius is my official album introduction to the world and represents a new season of music and art,” said Tinashe. “I cannot wait to finally share with the world what I have been working so hard on for the past few years. This is just the beginning.”
Later this month, she will release her second single “Pretend” featuring A$AP Rocky and produced by Detail.
“The song with Rocky is definitely kind of a contemporary-sounding song,” she told Rap-Up TV. “It doesn’t really sound like a lot of other songs on the radio, but it’s a midtempo feel and it’s kinda minimalistic in the track.”
