On Tuesday, Mariah Carey will release her 14th album Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse. In addition to Hit-Boy, Jermaine Dupri, and Mike WiLL Made It, Q-Tip lends his production to the soaring disco-soul number “Meteorite.”
The Tribe Called Quest rapper has released an alternate version of the song, which features a galloping beat. The song opens with Andy Warhol’s observation that everyone will be famous for 15 minutes before Mariah blasts off.
The album has been receiving favorable reviews from USA Today (3.5/4 stars) and Entertainment Weekly (B). “Ariana Grande may have been christened the ‘new Mariah,’ but we still need the old one. And she is telling you that she’s not going,” said EW.
You can stream the entire album on iTunes Radio before it drops.
