Anticipation has been growing for Nicki Minaj’s third album The Pink Print. While Young Money’s first lady is holed up in the studio, Birdman is shedding some light on the project.

According to the Cash Money boss, the follow-up to 2012’s Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded is shaping up to be Nicki’s strongest work yet.

“For the new album, she’s doing what she feels like doing and we’re supporting her,” Birdman told Billboard. “You hear a lot of growth in her music. She’s coming confident and hard. We expect for this to be one of the biggest [albums] from her.”

The album will showcase the head Barb’s skills as an MC. “It’s more rap. This album is going to have a little bit of everything but more rap,” he revealed.

She has yet to collaborate, but Birdman is sure that some of the YMCMB family will make appearances. “She’s still doing her thing, then getting features on it.”

While no release date has been set, he did say that the album will arrive after Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter V. “She’s definitely coming this year,” he said. “She hasn’t picked a date yet. Tha Carter V will definitely come before Nicki’s [album].”

In the meantime, she has been warming up with guest verses for everyone from Mario to Meek Mill, and even contributed the explosive “Lookin Ass” to the Young Money compilation Rise of an Empire. But don’t expect to hear the same thing.

“What she did for Young Money is totally different than what she’s doing for her album. She’s more girlier,” said Birdman.

In an interview with “The Breakfast Club” last year, Nicki spoke about her new music. “It’s very different from anything I’ve done, which I’m surprised about,” she said. “I’m not feeling like, ‘Oh, I did this.’ I’m feeling this is next level.”
