Asher Roth brings back the good old days in the video for “Tangerine Girl.” Directed by Matt Spicer, the throwback clip tells a strange love story that starts at the skating rink and ends in the bedroom. A couple finds love under the disco lights, while Asher plays DJ.
“I always prefer to use music videos as opportunities to tell stories,” said the Pennsylvania rapper. “‘Tangerine Girl’ was ideal for a bizarre love story at the skating rink.”
“Tangerine Girl” is the first single off Asher’s sophomore album RetroHash. Due April 22, the follow-up to his 2009 debut Asleep in the Bread Aisle was produced by Blended Babies and features ZZ Ward and Vic Mensa.
To celebrate the release, he will preview the album at SXSW in Austin on March 15 before performing four intimate shows in Philadelphia, Boston, New York, and Los Angeles.
