Rihanna closed out the year with her 13th No. 1 single, and she already eyeing her next No. 1. RiRi has teamed up with fellow Roc Nation bombshell Shakira on the Colombian singer’s new single.
The song, entitled “Can’t Remember to Forget You,” will premiere on January 13, Rihanna revealed on Twitter.
She confirmed the news by retweeting a fan who wrote, “14-01-2014 :: @shakira – Can’t Remember To Forget (feat. @rihanna ).”
RiRi responded, “ACTUALLY I just found out you’ll have it by the 13th! #1week.”
The song is the first single from Shakira’s upcoming album, due in early 2014 on RCA/Sony Latin Iberia. She will also return for a second season on NBC’s “The Voice,” premiering February 24.
Shakira previously collaborated with another pop megastar, Beyoncé, on the 2007 hit “Beautiful Liar,” which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Meanwhile, Rihanna’s collaboration with Eminem, “The Monster,” remains No. 1 for a fourth week on the Hot 100.
UPDATE: Shakira has confirmed the January 13 release date, tweeting, “You guys ready? Jan 13 is almost here!”
