Taylor Gang was in the building when Wiz Khalifa stopped by AXS TV’s “Skee Live” on Tuesday. The Pittsburgh rapper opened up about his upcoming album Blacc Hollywood and revealed how his collaboration with Adele came together.
“The Hollywood part, of course, is like the success, the glitz, the glamour, the fun stuff,” said Wiz of the title. “And the Blacc is where we come from—not Pittsburgh the ‘hood, but Pittsburgh party, drinking at a very young age, tearing stuff up, staying up too late. It’s a lot of fun and it’s a lot of attitude.”
He just wants to let loose on the follow-up to 2012’s O.N.I.F.C. “It’s just gonna be a very fun project,” added Wiz. “I don’t have really any points to prove on this one except that I’m awesome. I’m really taking my time and picking the records out.”
Among his collaborators are Miley Cyrus and Adele, who he and wife Amber Rose met at the Grammys. “She ran up on Amber. She was like, ‘Amber! Amber!’ And told her how beautiful she looked,” he said of the British singer. “Her people contacted some of my people when they found out we were working on the album and sent some ideas through, so we were able to knock some things out.”
Now that he’s a father, his priorities have shifted. “I’ve gotten a lot more scheduled,” said Wiz, whose son Sebastian is nine months old. “I’ve been able to place things and accomplish them and knock them out a little bit better.”
