Are Mariah Carey and Nas cooking up another collaboration? After celebrating his 40th birthday earlier this month, the pop diva hit the studio with the hip-hop legend this week.
She posted a photo of their late-night session with Jermaine Dupri on Twitter. “This album…….!” tweeted Mariah.
The two previously collaborated on the 2000 remix to “Thank God I Found You.”
Mariah is putting the finishing touches on the follow-up to 2009’s Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel. It was originally due in July, but does not currently have a release date.
In addition to Nas and JD, she has been in the studio with Wale, Young Jeezy, Mike Will Made-It, Rodney Jerkins, and The-Dream.
Earlier this month, she posted a photo of herself in the studio with Hit-Boy, writing, “The most incredible mix of a potential single by artists who live for music. I’m so happy! Potential…”
Hit-Boy added, “I’ma come clean. I fell asleep w this Mariah shit on repeat. Unreal melody. WoW. HBMCJF.”
The album has already spawned the Miguel-assisted hit “#Beautiful,” which peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100.
