Mariah Carey is not quite ready to let go of her new album. The pop diva has delayed the release of The Art of Letting Go.
The album was originally due July 23, but has now been pushed back to an undisclosed date.
She informed her Lambs via Twitter. “While making this album, I got so immersed in the creative process that I just don’t feel I would be doing it justice to release it on 7/23,” tweeted Mariah. “I’d rather not exclude meaningful songs. I want to give you this album as it’s meant to be heard. When I’m ready, you’ll be the first 2 know!”
She was recently in the studio with Young Jeezy and Mike WiLL Made It, and has been working with hitmakers including Jermaine Dupri, Rodney Jerkins, Hit-Boy, The-Dream, and more.
Her Miguel-assisted single “#Beautiful” is currently No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 and she was spotted in Capri shooting another video with Miguel earlier this month.
Mariah is set to perform at the BET Awards on June 30 and the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular on July 4.
