Meek Mill and Lil Snupe

Meek Mill and his Dreamchasers family are mourning the loss of one of their own, Lil Snupe, who was reportedly shot and killed.

According to Billboard, the 18-year-old Louisiana rapper died on Thursday morning, though no official details have been released. His manager, Leem7st, and Dreamchasers labelmate Louie V Gutta tweeted of Lil Snupe’s death.

Meek Mill signed Snupe to Dreamchasers last year after listening to his mixtape. “He was in a van, they was finna pull off. And I went and knocked on the van, on the window. They let the window down, grabbed the mixtape and it was like 10 minutes later, 20 minutes later they called me,” Snupe told MTV News.

His friends and fans took to Twitter to send their condolences. “RIP LIL SNUP! Just met homie is Dallas and talked about good things coming in the future and he gone now! Danm!” tweeted Mario.

DJ Khaled added, “R.I.P @LilSnupe tears coming dn my eyes snupe is a amazing friend artist I cnt believe ths!sending my prays 2 his family & his DCR family!”

Machine Gun Kelly, Teyana Taylor, and Trina also remembered the young MC. “This Is Crazy He Was A Talented Kid! May He RIP #LilSnupe .. Sending My Condolences To You & Your Team,” said Trina.

Meek did not confirm his protégé’s death, but did send a message urging him to call him. “tell lil snupe hit me up right now!!!” he wrote in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Snupe released his mixtape, Real Ni**a in Charge, in April. He last tweeted on Wednesday, writing, “i Hold it Down 4 Louisiana.”
