Yeezy season is officially underway. On the eve of his fifth appearance on “Saturday Night Live,” Kanye West has debuted a new song and visual for fans across the world via projectors.
“NEW SONG AND VISUAL FROM MY NEW ALBUM BEING PROJECTED TONIGHT ACROSS THE GLOBE ON 66 BUILDINGS, LOCATIONS @ KANYEWEST.COM,” tweeted ‘Ye.
On his official website, there is a map of 10 cities, 66 landmarks and buildings in North America, Europe, and Australia where he will display his new material.
The song is called “New Slaves,” based on a tweet from Kanye’s creative partner Virgil Abloh. “YEEZY SEASON. NEW SLAVES VIDEO PREMIERE. NO YOUTUBE. LIVE IN THE STREETS IN 66 COUNTRIES AROUND THE WORLD. TONIGHT,” he tweeted.
A black-and-white image of ‘Ye’s face is projected against a building as he raps along to the song. “You see it’s leaders and it’s followers, but I’d rather be a dick than a swallower,” he spits.
Other lyrics include, “My mama was raised in the era when clean water was only served to the fairer skin.”
The follow-up to 2010’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is expected to arrive on June 18.
He will perform new material off the album on tomorrow’s episode of “SNL.”
