The worlds of hip-hop and country collide on “Accidental Racist.” LL Cool J and Brad Paisley bridge the gap on their powerful, yet strange collaboration off Paisley’s new album Wheelhouse. Despite the cultural divide, the rap icon and country superstar try to understand each other and let bygones be bygones.
“I guess we’re both guilty of judgin’ the cover, not the book,” raps LL on the country record. “If you don’t judge my du-rag, I won’t judge your red flag.”
Due April 30, LL’s album Authentic also features Paisley on “Live for You,” plus collaborations with Eddie Van Halen, Snoop Dogg, Charlie Wilson, Travis Barker, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Bootsy Collins. LL will launch his “Kings of the Mic” tour on May 23 with Ice Cube, Public Enemy, De La Soul, and DJ Z-Trip.
