Lil Wayne

Lil Wayne returns to the charts next week with the sequel to I Am Not a Human Being. But will he be able to reclaim his chart-topping status?

According to HITS Daily Double, I Am Not a Human Being II is on track to sell 190-210,000 copies in its first week based on one-day estimates. He will be competing with country crooner Blake Shelton, who’s looking at 155-175,000.

The first I Am Not a Human Being was released in September 2010 while Weezy was in jail, but still opened at No. 2 with first-week digital sales of 110,000 downloads. Following its physical release in October, the album sold 125,000 copies and jumped to No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

The Young Money rapper’s previous album, Tha Carter IV, opened at No. 1 in September 2011 with sales of 964,000 copies.

This week’s chart-topper Justin Timberlake will easily hold on to the No. 1 spot next week following his blockbuster opening week of 968,000.

A surprised Timberlake reacted to the news. “Whoa… Speechless. Shocked. Numbers go up, numbers go down. I just hope this album makes your Summer… You already made mine #bestfansever,” he tweeted.
