Ciara has been teasing fans with the promise of new material, but now she’s making it official. The R&B star has announced two new singles off her Epic Records debut One Woman Army.
The video for “Sorry,” the first single from her fifth album, will premiere on BET’s “106 & Park” on September 13. She previously posted hand-written lyrics from the Jasper Cameron-produced song on Twitter.
The 26-year-old singer reveals a softer side on the follow-up to 2010’s Basic Instinct. “I can sometimes be afraid of my own vulnerability,” she said. “But this time I let myself face it. I let myself feel. I let myself be real. I let myself hurt and be healed.”
The project, described as her most authentic, emotionally honest, and ambitious to date, includes production from The Underdogs, Rodney Jerkins, Soundz, Jasper Cameron, Josh Abraham, and Jermaine Dupri. She gave fans a first look into the album with the upbeat buzz single “Sweat” featuring 2 Chainz.
After “Sorry,” a video for “Got Me Good” will premiere alongside the single’s release on October 8, with One Woman Army to follow on December 4.
