Eminem has been laying low lately, but the Detroit rapper called in to “The Cipha Sounds & Rosenberg Show” on Thursday morning to announce that his Shady Records signees Slaughterhouse will perform at Hot 97 Summer Jam on June 3 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. He also revealed that he’s back in the studio working on his eighth solo album.
Crooked I, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, and Royce da 5’9” join a lineup that includes Nicki Minaj, Waka Flocka Flame, French Montana, Maino, Tyga, 2 Chainz, Mavado, Young Jeezy, Trey Songz, Wale, Meek Mill, and more.
The hip-hop group will release its Shady Records debut Welcome to: Our House this summer featuring the Cee Lo Green-assisted single “My Life.”
In addition to working on the Slaughterhouse album, Em confirmed that he’s “starting to toy” with his next album. “I’m finishing up everything on the Slaughterhouse album and I’m kinda getting into my next record a little bit,” he told Peter Rosenberg.
Eminem and Royce da 5’9” topped the charts with the Bad Meets Evil EP Hell: The Sequel last year. Em’s last solo project Recovery was released in 2010 and became the biggest selling album of the year.
