Karmin brings the crazy in the video for “I Told You So.” The swag-pop duo, whose Epic Records debut Hello arrives today, goes from YouTube to the insane asylum in the clip, directed Brian DeCubellis of MTV Scratch. Amy stars as a mental patient, flipping some spastic rhymes over the hip-hop beat, while Nick plays her doctor.
“It kinda pays homage to [Chris Brown’s] ‘Look at Me Now,'” Amy told Rap-Up TV. “It’s got some fast rhyming in it and a catchy Middle Eastern-sounding chorus with trombones, but the music video is set in a 1950s psych ward, so you can only imagine what went down.”
