Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz

Alicia Keys has walked down the aisle, welcomed a son, and produced a play in the two-plus years since releasing her last album, 2009’s The Element of Freedom. Now the Grammy-winning singer is plotting her return to music with her fifth album, which Swizz Beatz calls “timeless.”

Her husband was beaming with pride as he spoke about his wife’s upcoming music. “She’s working on a timeless piece,” Swizz told Angie Martinez.

Expect Alicia to get personal on her first album since giving birth to baby Egypt. “The topics that she’s speaking about are super deep and from the heart, and to me what music has been missing,” added the producer, who dropped his new single “Street Knock” featuring A$AP Rocky. “It’s the thing that makes us special as an artist. I tell her, ‘Yo, I’m proud of you because you’re making timeless pieces.'”

In addition to Swizz, Alicia has been in the studio with Pop & Oak and longtime collaborator Kerry “Krucial” Brothers. “You deserve the best and I want to give you the best, so when you hear this music you’re blown away, like you’re filled,” said Alicia during her appearance on “GMA” late last year.

She’s fine tuning the project and a release could come soon. “It’s showtime,” announced Swizz. “She’s moving faster than people think. She’s tightening the bolts.”
