Daylight comes, but Jason Derulo doesn’t want to go home in the video for the first single from his sophomore album Future Sounds, due in September. While his friends are passed out from the night before, the R&B singer ignites a warehouse with his electrifying moves, causing the water sprinklers to go off. Melody Thornton makes a cameo, dancing alongside him.
“The kid is so hardworking,” wrote the former Pussycat Doll. “He had an injured ankle and still killed the choreography, danced around all day and gave interviews. He is so deserving of all his success, trust me!”
Derulo explained his vision to Rap-Up TV. “I wrote the video treatment and [director] Rich Lee took my treatment and expanded upon it and elaborated on it, but it’s really special,” he said. “It’s a high-energy dance video, more dancing than anybody’s ever seen me do thus far, yet very sexy.”
