If you think Jay-Z is down with the Illuminati, he has a message for you. The hip-hop mogul is speaking out against those who have accused him of being affiliated with the secret society, and his words might hurt.
“It may sound a little arrogant, but I just think people can’t handle when somebody else is successful,” Jay told Delta Sky magazine. “Something has gotta be wrong; you gotta be down with some higher power. And I guess when someone else is successful, it makes you feel like maybe you’re a failure. So it can’t be you, it has to be some other force.”
He’s not the only artist who’s been plagued by the rumors. His wife Beyoncé has dealt with her share of critics, as have other superstars including Lady Gaga, Jennifer Hudson, and Rihanna.
The Roc Nation CEO previously addressed the topic on Rick Ross’ “Free Mason,” where he rapped, “I said I was amazing, not that I’m a mason” and “I’m on my third six, but a devil I’m not.”
