Nicki Minaj helped boost ratings for this past weekend’s episode of “Saturday Night Live,” and now, it’s Chris Brown’s turn to try. The R&B sensation has been tapped to perform on the February 12 episode of the sketch comedy show, set to be hosted by Russell Brand.
This marks Breezy’s first time appearing on the show, though cast members have had open arms ever since his domestic violence incident in 2009. “It’s not up to me, but I’m sure we would [book him] if he had another hit single. We don’t care about scandal. We just care about what brings us ratings!” said cast member Kenan Thompson at the time.
The 21-year-old star also strikes big this week on Billboard’s Urban Mainstream Chart, holding it down at No. 1 for the second consecutive week with “No BS.” Over on the Mainstream Top 40 and Rhythmic radio airplay charts, “Yeah 3X” is floating in the top 5.
Capitalizing on the success of his singles, Chris is gearing up for the release of his fourth album F.A.M.E., dropping March 22.
