Waka Flocka Flame and Gucci Mane

Waka Flocka Flame isn’t putting up a fight. The “Hard in da Paint” rapper turned himself over to authorities today on a variety of drug, gun, and gang-related charges stemming from a police raid of his home in December. According to TMZ, Waka avoided going on the lam because, as his mother Debra Antney explained, he “didn’t want to run.”

The gruff spitter, whose Atlanta house was raided on December 16 while he wasn’t in the residence, was booked on charges including possession of marijuana, a firearm by a convicted felon, hydrocodone, and a firearm during the commission of a felony; violation of probation for driving on a suspended license; and violating Georgia’s “Criminal Street Gang and Terror Prevention Act.”

Currently being held on $31,950 bond with a hearing set for tomorrow, the New York native surrendered because “he wanted to do the right thing and didn’t want to run.” Coincidentally, his mentor Gucci Mane headed to jail today after he was arrested while in Waka’s house during the raid. He is facing a 17-month sentence if found guilty for violating his probation.
